Apology Count From Murtha Stuck At Zero
It seems the disgraced former Marine and current Congressman, Jack “The Ripper” Murtha is suffering from a John Kerry syndrome… Or is it because his old age has deprived him of the needed oxygen to speak rationally?
As a Veteran of the Armed Forces, I must say this congressman has disgraced the uniform of all former and current military personnel. I still haven’t heard any apologies for his anti-military, anti-marine hate speech, have you? Unless Murtha receives tremendous pressure from pro-military, patriotic Americans, I don’t think we ever will.
Just to refresh your memory, below are some quotes “The Ripper” has made in recent years about the war, including the famous Marine hater comments. For the sake of the innocent Marine and the more to follow, I hope to see increasing pressure placed upon this 75 year old delusional to apologize publicly and at minimum, demand that he would be censured…
In early 2005, Murtha argued against the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq. Murtha said, “A premature withdrawal of our troops based on a political timetable could rapidly devolve into a civil war which would leave America’s foreign policy in disarray as countries question not only America’s judgment but also its perseverance.”
Flip Flop-Flip Flop
2005: Murtha ignited a firestorm when he called for the redeployment of U.S. troops in Iraq, saying, “The U.S. cannot accomplish anything further in Iraq militarily. It is time to bring them home.” Political timetable?
2005: “We’re spending all this money and diverting our resources away from the war on terrorism because we’re involved in a civil war in Iraq.” Perseverance?
2005 Again: “Get out of Iraq and go to another country at the earliest practicable date.” Political timetable? Perseverance? Your words Jackie, not mine…
November 2005: Murtha announced that a military investigation into the Haditha killings concluded U.S. Marines had killed innocent civilians. Which he learned from the first report about Haditha which appeared in Time magazine. The Ripper said the following;
“It’s much worse than reported in Time magazine. There was no fire fight. There was no IED that killed these innocent people. Our troops overreacted because of the pressure on them and they killed innocent civilians in cold blood. And that’s what the report is going to tell.
Now, you can imagine the impact this is going to have on those troops for the rest of their lives and for the United States in our war and our effort in trying to win the hearts and minds”.
August 2006: A Marine Corps spokesman was quoted, saying “Murtha was not briefed until a week after his accusation of murder,” “in cold blood.” As he coined it…
July 2007: The Marine Corps released the findings of its in-depth investigation with the criminal prosecution of the first Marine to go through the criminal due process.
The investigating officer rebukes the government’s “massacre” story. “In this investigation, the Iraqis claiming to have seen the “murders” were revealed to be so inconsistent and unreliable (not to mention the forensics did not match up) that the investigator recommends dropping all of the charges against the first Marine who has been prosecuted.” The investigator also pointed out, “the potential employment of fabricated “massacres” by those seeking to achieve negative publicity and calls for troop withdrawal.” Hmm, I wonder who the investigator is referring to?
So, will Jack “The Ripper” Murtha be censured, will he even apologize, or will he continue to allow us to be so blessed by his service to our country? Only continuous pressure will tell.
Murtha will patiently wait for all of this to boil over, hoping that Americans and true military heroes will soon forget. I just hope the people of Pennsylvania won’t forget, by doing our country a favor and sending this disgraced Marine and Congressman to the retirement home…
Disclaimer: The words “The Ripper” used in this post are not intended to mean anything in connection with the original Jack “The Ripper”. However, the intention is that Murtha has ripped off people in financial scandals, ripped off the American people for misrepresentation, ripped away the essence of Marine integrity, and ripped out the hearts of an innocent Marine and his family. So, it was either The Ripper or Jackass?
