Pakistan Fires Back At The Junior Senator

We knew this would happen! Thanks to the Junior Senator (with emphasis on Junior) Barack Obama, Pakistani officials have fired back in response to Obama’s inexperienced comments about invading Pakistan…

Pakistan criticized the presidential candidate today for his words saying that, if he becomes President, he would probably conduct military strikes against terrorists hiding in their country.

Top Pakistan officials said Obama’s speech was irresponsible and it was all for a political advantage in the hopes of receiving the Democratic nomination.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Khusheed Kasuri responded by saying, “It’s a very irresponsible statement, that’s all I can say.” “As the election campaign in America is heating up we would not like American candidates to fight their elections and contest elections at our expense.”

Pakistani President Gen. Pervez Musharraf has been receiving enormous amounts of pressure from the Bush administration to be more pro-active in rooting out the alleged al-Qaida havens in Pakistan. Obviously, the Bush administration will not rule out any military strikes in Pakistan, but the difference is that the President will have Pakistan’s cooperation before any action is taken. I guess Obama didn’t get the memo on how to be tactful with a fragile sovereign country with nuclear weapons.

The Associated Press of Pakistan reported Friday that Musharraf was questioned about the Junior Senator’s remarks about the potential of U.S. military strikes in Pakistan. Musharraf responded by saying that, “Pakistan was fully capable of tackling terrorists in the country and did not need foreign assistance.” Top that response with the Deputy Information Minister Tariq Azim, Azim also replied to Obama’s statement by saying, “No foreign forces would be allowed to enter Pakistan.” “I think those who make such statements are not aware of our contribution” in the fight on terrorism,” Azim said and called the inexperienced Senator irresponsible.

To date, Pakistan has approximately 90,000 soldiers in the tribal regions of concern, mostly in and around North and South Waziristan. To date, several hundred Pakistani troops have been killed in the fight against the militants there… It is apparent that Pakistan is helping us, is it perfect, no far from it, but they are in the fight as well and they have suffered loss too. But thanks to Mr. Foreign Policy Obama slapping the face of an ally, he has made it more difficult for the U.S. to conduct future operations in that region. Nice work Barack, I bet your proud of that great moronic statement! I’m not sure if Oprah can bail you out of this one…
